We care for our people

We want our team members to live well. To do this, we take an integrated approach to wellness that supports our team members’ physical, emotional, and financial well-being, both at work and at home. It’s also about bringing out the best in our people, and helping them thrive in their roles.
Career Development
CAREER DEVELOPMENTTo support our team members’ professional growth, we offer educational workshops and e‑learning opportunities to support skills development; panel discussions to learn best practices from top talent; and practical tools and resources. In addition, ongoing mentoring opportunities  help team members broaden their networks and gain exposure to leaders and peers they might not normally meet.

While we strive to empower our team members to drive their own careers, managers play a key supporting role in each team member’s career journey. During one-on-one meetings, team members have ongoing discussions with their managers about their performance and career goals. Managers also help accelerate their team members' growth by offering stretch assignments to help each team member build strong, diverse networks, and by providing ongoing, candid feedback and coaching.
Jessica Bandar, Sr Director, Customer Care & Order Care, Operations

“Serving as a mentor is rewarding because I enjoy providing guidance that can motivate or benefit others on their career path. I also appreciate hearing different perspectives from team members outside of my work area. We can all learn something from each other, and in most of my Mentoring Circles sessions, I too learn from my ‘mentees’.”

Talent Mobility

TALENT MOBILITY
We actively encourage team members to seek roles in other areas of the organization to broaden their knowledge, skill set, and perspective. To help our team members learn about potential career opportunities, our departments host virtual “Open Houses” throughout the year. These events help team members gain a better understanding of the bigger picture of our organization, foster cross-departmental connections, and provide insight on what it takes to work in each area of the business.
We post open positions internally first, giving our team members a five-day head start to apply before interviewing any external candidates. All internal candidates are promised at least an exploratory/informational discussion with the hiring manager as well as the opportunity to seek related developmental feedback, if not selected for the position.

We also make it easy for team members to learn about, and apply for, positions within the Masco group of companies via a weekly job opportunities e-mail.
Hilda Lopez

“I am very grateful and proud to work for a company that values family and health, and provides us opportunities to work in different segments of the business and in different states.”

While initially hired as a Technical Support Representative right out of college, Hilda's everyday interactions and relationships with Behr sales representatives in her role inspired her to pursue a career in sales. After sharing her aspirations with her sales colleages, they served as mentors who motivated and encouraged her to make the leap!

Fast forward 16 years later, and Hilda has now worked in 6 states for Behr, currently serviceing as a Regional Sales Manager in New York City and New Jersey.

“If you share ideas that add value and are worth pursuing, Behr will invest in you.”

At first glance, Greg's journey from Chemist to Marketing Leader might not be obvious. Greg joined Behr as a Postdoctoral Research Chemist, and had a key role in several projects focusing on furthering the technology and innovation found in products like Scuff Defence and Dynasty. His in-depth knowledge of Behr products on a foundational level, along with this commitement to learn new things, tackle new challenges, and expand his network, made for a great transition into marketing pating products.
