A Warehouse Picker Summer Student is accountable for performing duties as required in the Warehouse to pick and pack orders for customer shipments.  Safety in the workplace is essential to this role, while timely and accurate picking of products will ensure high quality product and packaging and strong pick rates.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Picking Orders
  • Scan orders to employee
  • Open and complete orders on scan gun
  • Walk through the Warehouse to complete orders which includes picking, scanning, and packing product for each order
  • Apply labels on cartons and record pick ticket number on carton
  • Deliver and load cartons onto the shipping conveyor
  • Assemble cartons for packing
  • Other duties as assigned

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a safe workplace
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required on the shop floor
  • Comply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)
  • Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)
  • Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as required
  • Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Adhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 (GHS & 1988) requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Bend and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Comfortable working around forklift traffic???
  • Successful completion of all applicable pre-employment testing
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
