Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Warehouse Lead assists in overseeing the Warehouse Department and all the corresponding personnel. Assists and develops direct reports to achieve desired results. Responsible for working through HR for all employment related activities.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure safety of personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Supports the material receiving activities to ensure materials received are what was ordered, correct quantities, undamaged, etc.
  • Supports the shipping activities to ensure shipments are properly loaded for delivery
  • Responsible for the coordination and scheduling of pickups/deliveries of waste material for recycling
  • Manage expense accounts for department personnel
  • Support the order manufacturing process by working extensively with all departments to ensure no stock outs.
  • Creates and executes performance plans, meets performance commitments and works within the guidelines of the Milgard Performance System; reflects Milgard’s business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions
  • Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.
  • Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:

  • Oversees department employees depending upon department and shift

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 1 year in material receiving/handling/shipping function required
  • Glass handling and/or glass knowledge preferred
  • Customer service experience required

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma or GED

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

  • Compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment.
  • Work surfaces are concrete and may stand while performing job functions, for up to 12 hours a day

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling
  • Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors
  • Hand dexterity and strength
  • Overtime may be required, including some weekends

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a warehouse type facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions.
  • Hearing protection and safety glasses required, additional safety equipment provided based on specific job.
