Specific Responsibilities:

  • Must have or obtain a Masco Cabinetry Forklift License with the Hyster 300 Endorsement.
  • Limited/mandatory weekend hours.
  • Kiln Technician responsibilities will require a (1) one-week off-site training in Kiln Drying.
  • Recording daily kiln logs
  • Operate kilns while maintaining a high quality product
  • Monitor and troubleshoot kilns as needed
  • Ensures proper inventory accuracy.
  • Assists in the management of department priorities.
  • Is responsible for all other lumber operations as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to learn/perform all operations of lumber yard
  • Kiln operating experience with Hard Maple, Cherry, and Red Oak
  • Making set point changes to kiln charges
  • Experience with SII Dry Kiln database
  • Training and development.
  • Performance measurement.
  • An ability to balance/achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail.
  • Problem analysis and resolution.
  • Inventory management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong team player.

Must have a good overall work record, including a satisfactory attendance record. Must have the ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds, tolerate heights and all types of weather conditions, and must be able to work overtime if necessary. Must demonstrate a commitment to safety at all times by wearing proper PPE including hard hat and fall protection equipment. Employees in this position are required to follow established safety rules and promote the overall safety and health program of Masco Cabinetry in the performance of their duties.
