Job Description

Job Description

Are you a passionate and agile Talent and OD practitioner who wants to make an impact? Masco is looking for someone who wants to be part of a team that’s focused on helping our business units take performance to the next level.

The Work:

Your work will evolve as our multi-year strategy and priorities progress. You’ll be involved in and get exposure to a breadth of areas, including Leadership, Talent Management, Performance Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Assessment & Selection, HR Analytics, among others. You’ll be part of designing and implementing different types of solutions. You’ll help continuously evaluate what’s working and what isn’t to figure out better ways to execute the work and support our business units. What you’ll take the lead on will depend on your strengths, experiences, interests, and development opportunities as well as our business priorities.  To be successful you'll need to approach the work with curiosity, purpose, rigor, and adaptability. You will be part investigator, scientist, creator, project manager, consultant, and coach. The types of people you’ll engage and partner with will be diverse and varied across our business units and geographies, including early-career employees, top talent, senior leaders, business unit HR and talent partners, and external partners.

The Team:

You'll be part of a small but mighty team. This role is on the Talent & Organizational Development team at Masco’s Corporate center and reports to the Director of Talent & OD. Our approach to work is iterative and dynamic—we’re always trying to figure out how to do things better and different. We each take the lead in some areas as well as play a supporting role in each other’s work to accomplish our common goals. You’ll work alongside our HR and talent partners in the business—they are our collaborators and customers and we’re always asking ourselves how we can add more value to them. Be prepared for brainstorms, working sessions, and being challenged on creating high impact solutions. Speak up, listen, engage, and be open to sharing and getting different perspectives.

The Success Profile:

There isn't just one. We are open to people with different backgrounds and previous experiences. What’s most important is your capabilities, approach to the work, and your ability to have an impact.

  • We are a Center of Expertise – we value expertise in talent management and organizational development.
  • A problem-solver that likes and knows how to use data and analysis—not only as the basis for your approach, but to tell a clear story about the key insights and actions they inform.
  • Comfortable in the grey. You can take something that’s loosely defined, jump-in and take it to the next step. You know how to be resourceful, do research, and identify options vs. wait to have all the information.
  • You’re good with change, both in experiencing it and driving it. Priorities shift and unanticipated things happen. You’re comfortable navigating through it and making progress toward key outcomes.
  • You’re good at creating things. Much of what we do, starts with having a compelling product that helps bring our stakeholders along. It might be a PowerPoint deck, a working session design document, a spreadsheet, or a simple communication – we have high standards and while it’s not all about the product, we know high-quality ones can be a difference maker.
  • All around team-player. You can work with different types of people and styles and you’re great at adjusting your approach to work well with them. You’re just as comfortable working independently as you are co-creating with others.
  • You have some strong past experiences, likely at least 3-5 years in the talent management and organizational development space.
  • If you have Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, or related field, it’s a plus.
