Supply Chain Supervisor

We have an exciting new opportunity in our Denver location for a Supply Chain Supervisor. This person will plan, manage and monitor all supply chain activities to ensure a cost-effective flow of material from supplier to Milgard production lines. Manage day-to-day supply activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness and cost effectiveness of the organization’s supply with a hands on approach. Provide support to a team of purchasing and scheduling commodity specialist.


Responsibilities include:

  • Effectively allocate resources to meet department goals.
  • Liaise with functional and operational area managers (e.g., in customer service, sales and production planning) to ensure supply activities are integrated with other parts of the business.
  • Lead, manage, evaluate, and develop staff to ensure resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met.
  • Ensure that processes and tools are in place to extract the greatest value from our supply-chain.
  • Lead key supplier negotiation activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and mentor a team of high performing Supply-Chain professionals. Ensure that each member of the team is empowered and grows professionally. Use MPS to establish alignment across the organization.
  • Ensure that there is an effective communication channel established with our suppliers, that all interactions with suppliers are ethical, and that suppliers benefit from their partnership with Milgard.
  • Maintain a set of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) that monitor the health of Milgard’s supply-chain and direct actions where exceptions and/or trends indicate deficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain the processes and relationships necessary to ensure supply-chain strategies are well integrated into product development and engineering efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of Supply-Chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Previous hands-on procurement experience necessary. Experience with Lean and/or Six-Sigma helpful. Working knowledge of MRP inventory control systems. Experience with SAP and ERP planning and purchasing system. Experience using Oracle for purchasing and scheduling. Milgard is seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Business Management or relative field of study.
