Purpose:

The Buyer/Planner Intern reports to the Senior Supply Planning Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting effective daily management of direct material PO’s (release of PO, expedite/de-expedite including air freight, reconciliation of receiving errors,etc). The internship interacts primarily with suppliers, but also with other internal functions (plants receiving, accounts payable, demand planning, etc).

Time Frame:


May 2018- May 2019

Responsibilities:


  • Review, approve, and release purchase orders
  • Follow up on POEDC messages (Expedite, de-expedite, cancel purchase orders
  • Update promise delivery dates on purchase orders in ERP system
  • Interface with suppliers on day to day questions
  • Help manage supplier shutdown activities including manual demand signals and manual purchase orders
  • Interact with various functions as necessary to resolve invoicing issues
  • Help manage supplier inventory agreement processes as negotiated by Sourcing Department
  • Manage key supplier data accuracy (lead times, order qty’s, PO send method, etc)
  • Interact with Supply Planning Analyst in setting EN dates
  • Assist with managing projects as necessary (in-sourcing, resourcing, outsourcing)
  • Represent buyer/planner group on various cross functional projects
  • Help analyze root cause and report on supplier delivery issues


Education and Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate is working on a bachelor degree in supply chain. The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills along with the demonstrated ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines.
