Job Description

The System Support Technician is responsible for the coordination of services for network and computing resources at our Jackson, TN manufacturing facilities to ensure the availability of computing and network resources to meet operational and business requirements.

This includes desktop, server, and voice/data network equipment. The position involves frequent contact with business users, including office and shop floor workers. Prompt response to technology issues is required to minimize impact to plant production and business operation.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Troubleshoot/repair desktop and laptop computers and other Information Services technologies
  • Troubleshoot/support voice/data networking in conjunction with Telecommunications team
  • Troubleshoot/coordinate issue identification and resolution with specialized support teams (Systems Administrator, Telecommunications, etc) utilizing incident management
  • Maintain integrity of network information with regard to user security, rights and privileges
  • Deploy/maintain technology solutions
  • Document/maintain implemented technology solutions and troubleshooting procedures
  • Respond to the needs and questions of network and computer equipment users and provides user support

Education and Experience/Skills

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science with at least 3 years related systems experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This role requires strong customer service skills as well as a demonstrated attention to detail. The position requires an individual who is able to work independently and use sound judgment when solving problems. This individual must be able and willing to learn new technologies and skills. Support will require rotating on-call for call in or onsite availability to troubleshoot and/or perform maintenance.
