JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of Windows Operating System Applications and hardware support services for Masco Cabinetry. This includes operating system and hardware installation, security, tuning and maintenance activities, etc.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining all Windows Operating Servers.
  • Responsible for research, planning, implementing, and supporting all Microsoft applications.
  • Develop and manages server, storage and application configurations, implementations new projects and technologies within the Intel/Windows platform.
  • Perform hardware set up, software installation/configuration and the day-to-day administration of Windows operating system and related services.
  • Responsible for checking daily logs, backup/recovery procedures, disaster recovery and periodic maintenance.
  • Performs ongoing performance and operations management to ensure the smooth operation and overall efficiency of the Windows Server environment, including upgrades, patches, managing and monitoring system and application backups, performance monitoring and notification tools.
  • Develops quality measurement and reporting procedures for support to manage the satisfaction of service level agreements.
  • Conducts performance tuning, ensures the availability of systems and performs capacity planning for server and storage resources.
  • Provides regular management reports and recommendations regarding capacity planning for resources within the position’s scope of responsibility.
  • Evaluates new technologies and tools, testing and installation of new Windows Server systems hardware and software, and assists with the establishment and maintenance technical standards, policies and procedures.
  • Configuring, allocating and managing disk space and other system resources as needed within the Windows Server environment.
  • Design, build, tune and maintain operating systems and associated hardware in support of assigned business applications.
  • Implement, design, and support virtualization.
  • Lead all aspects of the activities required to ensure the assigned systems area available to the appropriate user community, as arranged, and in a manner that is effective, efficient and secure.
  • Participate in off hour on call problem resolution process.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science/engineering discipline or business discipline with applied information technology training.
  • Demonstrated in depth knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop operating systems as well as all Microsoft software.
  • 5+ years of information systems experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Proficient computer skills required including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office products, Internet, printing, operating systems, network operating systems, importing and exporting of data, and communications.
  • Proven ability to function with minimal direction in completing the responsibilities of position.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise system backup and restores
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively over the phone in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Root cause analysis experience.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel 10%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • MCTS - Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
  • MCITP - Microsoft Certified IT Professional
  • MCTS: Exchange Server 2007 certification
  • MCTS: Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007
  • Citrix and Terminal Server experience.
