Who were looking for:

Milgard’s Tacoma Manufacturing Operation located in Fife is looking for a highly-motivated and customer-oriented Sr. Human Resources Business Partner who can build strong relationships at all levels in the organization.

The positions supports the overall Human Resources function through recruiting, training, performance management, benefits, payroll and employee relations to ensure Milgard is a great place to work.  This role will be included in the location senior leadership team and will partner with other leaders in establishing priorities, planning and conducting training efforts, and promoting a positive environment for all employees. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for superior delivery of Human Resources services to a location of up to 500 employees
  • Manage the hourly recruitment and on-boarding process to ensure staffing needs are met
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, learning and supportive work environment 
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, benefits, etc.
  • Conduct investigations and partner with other leaders to determine appropriate actions
  • Supervise a HR team, which includes an HR Business Partner, Recruiter and HR Representative
  • Assists in the development and presentation of training to supervisors and managers
  • Partners with the managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with federal, state and company standards
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and practices regarding employment law, safety and workers compensation
  • Identify new opportunities or gaps in current processes/practices and work with others to implement improvements

What you bring:

  • Minimum of six years of board Human Resources experience that includes Hourly Recruiting, Employee Relations, Training/Development and Compensation/Benefits, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field
  • Sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • SPHR or PHR certification desired
