We are looking for a proactive, resourceful communicator with exceptional writing skills and a positive attitude. As the Senior Specialist for corporate communications and PR, your main role will be to work alongside the Sr. Manager in implementing and executing corporate communications and strategic PR plans for Behr Paint Company and all brands under the umbrella including Behr DIY, Behr Pro, Behr Canada, Kilz and Magnolia Home.


  • Help lead the development of the company’s corporate communications strategy and execution
  • Work closely with the People Services team and Behr Paint Company president to ensure that all corporate communications are consistent and effective
  • Manage internal communications calendar and content
  • Manage Behr Paint Company’s internal newsletter including timeline, content and executive approvals. Four quarterly issues a year
  • Work with the internal communications creative team to ensure that all corporate brand visual elements are consistent
  • Copywriting: research, write, review, and edit content for various vehicles including corporate communications, external marketing campaigns and product information
  • Support PR initiatives for all company brands and services as needed:  Behr, BehrPro, KILZ and Magnolia Home
  • Help manage partnerships including influencer collaborations and event sponsorships
  • Event planning and management
  • Work with PR agency to field media inquiries by gathering up to date company and product information from cross functional teams
  • Administrative support including: invoices & forecasting, paint orders and managing legal reviews


  • Exceptional communications skills, both orally and in writing
  • Copywriting skills & experience
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to influence others and mobilize others towards set goals
  • Able to work in a matrix environment and to collaborate cross-functionally 
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Functions equally well under direction and when there is ambiguity
  • Bachelor's in Marketing/Communications/equivalent experience
  • Previous advertising and PR experience strongly preferred


  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and tight timelines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, especially PowerPoint
  • Cultural fit with Brand Marketing core principles – flexibility, accountability, customer focused, trust/safe place for debate and results oriented


  • Willingness to travel on limited basis
