Milgard Windows & Doors is the leading manufacturer of windows and doors in the Western United States with operations in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, and Texas. 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our corporate finance team in Tacoma, Washington.

As a Senior Accountant, you are responsible for general ledger accounting and month-end accounting functions such as journal entries and analysis worksheets to support timely and accurate month-end results with duties, which may include the following:  

  • Financial statement review
  • Account review and reconciliations
  • Analysis of leased assets and asset accounting
  • Maintain & develop effective financial controls, policies & procedures
  • Design, evaluate and implement system improvements and or procedural changes in support of project goals (strengthen internal SOX and operational controls, increase resource efficiencies).   Cross functional effort with key stakeholders (IT, Supply Chain, Operations)

The successful candidate will have proficiency in:

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely communicate both to senior management and non-accounting professionals
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
  • Proven problem solving ability with continuous improvement mindset
  • Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs
  • Project management competencies– demonstrated self-starter, ability to work as part of a team or independently, identify project tasks with realistic milestone goals, strong negotiation skills; personal organization,  ability to predict and create solutions to issues before they arise (risk management) and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
