Purpose:

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of safety best practices across multiple sites? As a member of our environmental, health, safety and security (EHSS) team you will participate in a cross functional team with a broad scope of tasks related to protecting employees and the environment. As a corporate safety intern, you will participate in regular continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing site safety programs and be assigned developmental tasks as a EHSS team member.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with company EHSS professionals from multiple sites to revise existing programs and drive continuous improvement under the direction of our Corporate Director of EHSS.
  • Update site safety plans related to lockout, confined space, hazardous materials management, etc.
  • Key improvement projects shall center on arc flash, manifesting and first aid program revisions.
  • Participate in various continuous improvement teams addressing safety, environmental, and security concerns.

Education & Experience:

  • Students with a passion for safety and majoring in Safety Management, Occupational Health Science, or similar Occupational Safety programs required.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Position may require occasional travel to facilities in Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
