Behr is looking for a full-time R&D Analyst to join our new technology research team. The candidate will conduct research in the architectural coatings space with a focus on analyzing and interpreting research data to identify trends and information that can be utilized to add value to Behr’s coating portfolio.

The candidate will apply statistical data analysis and machine learning tools to build predictive models, create algorithms to extract information from large data sets and deploy the algorithms to different areas of R&D and/or production to identify actionable insights from large databases.


Research new technology concepts that add value to architectural coatings

Identify opportunities to apply machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to build, test, and validate predictive models

Contribute to internal discussions on emerging machine learning and data analysis methodologies

Interact cross-functionally with groups in and outside of R&D to meet project timelines and milestones

Provide project updates via oral presentations and written reports. Ability to effectively communicate technical results and translate data into understandable documents and/or dashboards

Train and mentor other R&D team members on data analytics


Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, computer science, chemistry or a related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Self-motivated creative problem solver

Experience in a statistical or computational data analysis is desired with proficiency in Python, R, or other scripting language. Machine learning or deep learning experience is also desired.
