Job Summary

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) leads a team within a defined geographic region to achieve incremental sales targets and increase market penetration. The RSM is responsible for communicating Masco Coatings' values, strategies, and objectives; while holding the team accountable, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results of the sales team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Communicate and execute sales strategy and growth initiatives by building and maintaining relationships with key customers, helping the sales team develop regional plans, leading the sales team to achieve repeatable results.
  • Monitor, guide, and coach sales team to achieve business targets, improve selling skills (strategic and tactical) productivity, building sustainable customer relationships.
  • Utilize the technology and tools provided to the sales team to optimize performance and efficiencies.
  • Contributes regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans; identifies opportunities; and implements change.
  • Manage sales team store activities and maintain expenses set within budgetary guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for hiring and retention of sales team through on-boarding, coaching, mentoring, development and performance management. (Same as the above bullet point in red.
  • Manages a team of 10 to 18 sales reps within designated geographic region.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educations and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent experience in related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of successful sales or sales management experience within the coatings industry.
     

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position is required
  • Collaborative and trustworthy team builder, exhibiting the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.

  • Ability to work independently

Computer Skills

  • MS Office Applications (Power Point, Excel, Word) required
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems

Language Skills

  • English (speak, read, and write)

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic math (add, subtract, divide, multiply)

Other Skills

  • Valid driver's license, satisfactory evidence of insurance and state verification of driving record
  • Must be able to work all shifts including weekend and holiday hours; with ability to travel

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel by plane and automobile (if applicable).
