I.       PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor the receiving clerk will unload trucks, sign for and verify carton counts, properly count material, identify and separate items on packing slips and keep accurate receiving records. Work with the Accounts Payable and Purchasing Departments to help resolve any receiving discrepancies. 

II.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect inbound shipments and properly record any damage with carrier and Brasstech for claims against the carrier.
  • Verify items received against packing slip and match to the purchase order.
  • Count all items received and verify against packing slip and purchase order.
  • Ensure accuracy of all counts and transactions made into current ERP
  • Print and accurately label all boxes with part numbers and quantities.
  • Work with other departments to distribute material as received for MRO and supplies.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and/or work with Purchasing to get them resolved.
  • Follow all safety rules of the organization

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to coordinate a small team

IV. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a receiving function
  • Operate counting scale
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and other department.
  • Basic math – adding, subtracting, multiplying
  • High School Diploma or GED

V.    PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Able to lift 25 pounds
  • Requires continual standing/walking.
  • Constant use of hands, and reaching with hands/arms.
  • Occasional stooping

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Working in warehouse environment standing most of the time.
  • Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, cold, and heat
  • Require face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection while on shop floor and any other required PPE.
