A Quality Manufacturing Engineer job in Tacoma, WA is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. You should possess a minimum of three plus years' related experience in a production environment. You will have an overall responsibility with working directly with all paint and component suppliers to ensure their products meet Milgard's color/gloss requirements. Along with creating and maintaining the Color Management System. Quality Manufacturing Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • You will have an overall responsibility for working directly with all paint and component suppliers to ensure their products meet Milgard's color/gloss requirements.
  • Create and maintain a Color Management System. Standardize color and gloss across all product lines while leading all certification efforts related to paint and color requirement.
  • Lead corrective action processes to improve product class across all Milgard facilities
  • Analyze internal data and customer complaints, and propose a plan to improve (product/process design)
  • Support Product Engineering and plant Manufacturing Engineers with New Product Introduction in manufacturing plants
  • Directly involved with Milgard Location sites that are starting up or maintaining paint lines, more specifically, for helping to instruments and tools needed to maintain a healthy paint line, training on all instruments and tools for QA testing.
  • Responsible for loading Milgard standards into all color meters for all locations, for cleaning, calibrating and certifying all color equipment and tools on a daily, monthly and yearly basis

Qualifications:

  • You should possess a minimum of three-plus years' related experience in a production environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM degree)
  • Mechanical and Chemical degree is a plus
  • Knowledge of problem-solving methodology
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills
  • Six-Sigma Green belt certification would be a plus
