The Quality Engineer is responsible for development and maintenance of production quality standards and documentation. This includes defining quality requirements for new products, preparing documentation (including control plans, PFMEAs, PPAPs, and corrective action) and monitoring production quality performance to identify opportunities for improvement.


  • Closely monitor internal and external quality issues and develop effective root cause analyses and corrective actions to resolve these issues.
  • Identify quantifiable opportunities for improvement in quality, cost, and safety, and establish well-defined goals to accomplish these improvements.
  • Provide technical direction to the management team regarding quality control and assurance strategies.
  • Identify and apply appropriate Advanced Product Quality Planning tools such as the Production Part Approval Process, Process Potential and Capability Analysis, RCCM, Quality Plans, D/PFMEA, and Measurement Systems Analysis
  • Develop and implement test and inspection methods for use throughout the organization.
  • Serve as the QA representative on development teams.
  • Develop and communicate effective quality plans for new product development and process engineering activities.
  • Demonstrate a level of leadership capability recognized throughout the organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of methods and technologies related to the quality function.
  • Provide investigative support for product complaints and/or safety issues.
  • Develop and conduct training programs pertaining to quality systems, quality practices and technical standards developments.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment at all times when making decisions affecting the company’s business.


  • Minimum of a two-year technical degree.
  • 3 years previous experience in a similar Quality role situated in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical and/or material systems.
  • Detailed understanding of quality process and procedures, to include experience with Lean Manufacturing, ISO, and computer-based tools is required.
  • Computer skills in ERP Production Systems and Microsoft suite, which allow the ability to produce accurate and timely reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading (be able to interpret blueprints) and manufacturing systems such, material requirements planning (MRP), and inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with the PPAP process.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality and problem-solving tools.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • ASQ CQE or CQA
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification.
  • Experience working in Extruded Plastics and/or Injection Molding highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading (be able to interpret blueprints) and manufacturing systems such as engineering notices, material requirements planning (MRP), and inventory management systems is desired
