Purpose:

Are you an ambitious individual that enjoys continuous improvement, challenging the status quo, and learning dynamic and exciting skills? Do you have in interest in product and process quality and reliability? Delta Faucet Company is seeking a high-performing undergraduate engineering student passionate about working on a Summer internship project in 2020. You will be assigned to multiple meaningful projects that may include product evaluation, completing testing activities, test method development, attendance at New Product Development meetings, product and print reviews, etc.

The internship involves contributing both as an individual and as part of a team to work on validating and improving the quality of new products that in the development cycle. Working directly with Quality Engineers as well as personnel in our testing laboratory, your assignments will allow you to autonomously handle your own tasks while interacting with many other business functions. In this role, working alongside other Delta Faucet employees:

  • You will become familiar with Delta's Quality System.
  • You will review and gain an understanding of product industry standards.
  • You will craft summary reports and present to Engineering and Management.


Responsibilities:

  • You may have some supplier interaction.
  • Evaluation of statistical or quality data.
  • Entering data into quality systems.
  • Working with test equipment to evaluate product function.
  • You may learn and use quality methodologies to assess repeatability and reproducibility of testing or measurement methods.
  • Evaluate and suggest changes to improve testing and measurement methods while still meeting requirements.
  • Review of product requirements (prints, specifications) and analyzing product to those requirements.

This Summer Intern position will be directly mentored by a Quality Engineer, lab supervisor, and others.

You will have the opportunity for future assignments including assignments at our Delta manufacturing facilities.



Education and Experience

  • Working toward B.S. in Engineering or related technical field
  • Must have completed freshman year before internship begins.
  • Should desire a hands-on work experience and be able to work independently.
