Masco Cabinetry has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Manager at our corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI!

Develops a global sourcing strategy for materials, defines project scopes and identifies savings opportunities. Negotiates and manages contracts and relationships with suppliers. Implements policies and metrics to ensure that savings goals are realized. Works with commodity specialists, engineers, finance, and management to identify current and new product needs, identifies new domestic and global sources in order to meet business requirements. Manages intercompany relationships with Masco Corporate and other business units.


  • Develop and maintain a high-performance culture in the function, resulting in continued success meeting functional KPIs and improved levels of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Lead the development and implementation of commodity strategies for both direct and indirect materials and services and assist commodity specialists as needed.
  • Lead Value Analysis/Value Engineering commercial initiatives.
  • Direct contract management of supplier relationships.
  • Maintain material budget and monitor the effects of commodity markets.
  • Manage supplier capacity necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Lead the identification of new suppliers throughout the world.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work across a global, matrix organization, sharing and learning best practices, and balancing global and local needs and impacts.
  • Liaise with counterparts in other functional areas such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering Marketing and Warehouse personnel to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.
  • Identify supplier opportunities and challenges and partner with the Product Management team to ensure appropriate resolution.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience within Supply Chain Management at a manufacturing company with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience developing and using advanced negotiation techniques, writing commodity strategies, identifying and analyzing input cost drivers, benchmarking methodologies, supplier performance metrics and writing supplier contracts.
  • Global sourcing experience with strong emphasis in Asia.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated successful capability to resolve conflict over sensitive or complex issues.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership, including personnel and organization development.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% including international.


  • MBA
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities and Six Sigma processes.
  • Familiarity with the cabinet industry and product.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Spanish.
