Job Description

The Purchasing Admin performs a variety of routine purchasing support functions, requiring knowledge of basic data entry, filing and proactive communication skills. Maintains open and closed purchase order files and logs. Prepares purchase orders, reviews acknowledgements, and verifies delivery dates and pricing information. Runs purchasing reports and research items and purchases all materials for the location.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Generate selected requisitions.
• Facilitate material issues through resolution and corrective action..
• Phone contact with outside suppliers to place and verify orders and delivery times. Supplier contact to rectify order issues and communicate resolution to affected internal customers.
• Responsible for following up to ensure accurate and timely information.
• Maintain accounts/records of purchasing activities per standard operating procedures.
• Provide customer service to ensure customers (all departments) have all necessary current information.

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of the job

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:
• Minimal


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Previous data entry preferred
• Customer service required
• Experience in purchasing/procurement preferred

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
• High school diploma or GED required.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:
• Able to read and use a tape measure and operate basic hand tools.
• Read/write and basic math skills.
• Ability to get along well with co-workers.
• Must display and work with a sense of urgency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Read, write and understand the English language
• Display a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills with an attention to detail and strong organizational skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Work performed indoors in a climate controlled environment
• Multiple phone lines
