Job Description


A Production I employee in the Insulated Glass (IG) Department performs work activities in relation to the cutting of glass and assembly of insulated glass units. A Production I employee in the Insulated Glass (IG) Department performs a variety of manufacturing assignments and requires seasonal availability according to production needs (8-12 hours per day). The work is performed indoors in ambient weather conditions, which fluctuates in temperature extremes from + 32oF to + 110oF.


  • Perform departmental activities per standard operating procedures, MPS, and Core Values.
  • Ensure grid patterns, glass type, and handing are correct per tag. Read tags to verify material type, color, and size are correct.
  • Complete a quality control chart daily as required per standard operating procedures.
  • Produce an insulated glass unit with minimal breakage.
  • Keep all parts (grid connectors, butyl, etc.) stocked at all times.
  • Adhere to safety procedures.
  • Proper usage of personal safety equipment

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Window manufacturing, preferred.
  • Glass handling and/or glass knowledge a plus


  • Compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
  • Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment.
  • Capable of lifting 20 – 100 pounds per SOP.
