Delta Faucet Company has an awesome opportunity in our engineering department for a Product Engineer!


This position designs, develops, and implements new products, product quality improvements, cost reductions, and product customization to meet customer and market needs for shower heads and hand showers. The position holder takes the technical lead for specific projects and takes responsibility for all aspects of design control on these projects. This engineer teams with functional areas such as Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and external suppliers (as well as with other external design and development partners at times) to identify and achieve project goals. This position reports to the Product Engineering Manager and is capable of performing various design, development, and analytical activities.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and commercialize new products, quality improvements, and cost reductions to meet customer and changing market needs
  • Lead the product development team in design coordination and control, as well as design verification and validation
  • Generate design requirements from product requirements
  • Disposition of new parts and assemblies through pilot runs, first article or PPAP, and deviations.
  • Develop specifications and test plans and oversee the testing of the product and any product design changes
  • Create and maintain company engineering documentations, such as engineering design specifications, work instructions, etc
  • Evaluate and analyze external quality data and use information to develop product improvements

Education and Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four year college or university and have 0-5 years of product design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. It is preferred that this individual have experience with manufacturing processes including but not limited to: machining, buffing, plating, coating, physical vapor deposition, plastic injection molding, rubber molding, zinc die casting, brass permanent mold casting, stamping and assembly. The position holder will also have demonstrated knowledge of the following: standards and codes that affect the design and acceptability of our products, various rapid prototyping methods, test methods and design of experiments, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software systems, and Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) practices. Project management experience is helpful and the individual must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with confidence at all levels of the organization.
