Masco Cabinetry has an immediate opening for a Product Engineer at our corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI!

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for product configuration, bill of material, improvement efforts, process documentation, and new product development support. Responsible for creating SOPs, process improvement, and training for department. Responsible for troubleshooting and special project work.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining product information such as items with attributes and bill of material. Analyzes bill of material structure for accuracy and completeness in accordance with product standards, procedures, and engineering requirements. 
  • Update and/or develop process documentation, such as SOP’s and process maps.
  • Manipulate and analyze large volumes of data in Excel using complex formulas to construct and setup new items and bills of material (BOM) in Oracle.
  • Support product launch activities including uploading product data, troubleshooting, testing and validation.
  • Create business rules, validate, and execute automated bill of material creation using the product configurator.
  • Create and deliver training programs for areas of improvement based on business needs.
  • Create, validate, and release engineering drawings created through the automated configurator process.
  • Make recommendations to enhance and streamline current processes.
  • Leverage and improve technology such as macro recorders, automated data loaders, and the product configurator to increase efficiency in data creation and corrections.
  • Modify and analyze product data to support various research or inquiries.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, information systems, or related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal customers.
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Prior SQL or equivalent query writing experience.
  • Prior ERP experience (Oracle).
  • AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD software experience.
  • Familiarity with the cabinet industry or furniture industry products.
