The Manufacturing Plant Manager will direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities of resources (human and automated) to achieve safety, production, quality, shipping and receiving.  In partnership with the VP, Operations the Plant Manager will develop and execute plant goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Coordinate plant activities through the planning with department supervisors to ensure plant objectives are accomplished in timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards in compliance with all regulated materials, processes and SOP’s.
  • Monitors and maintain all areas according to OSHA and EPA guidelines as well as the internal safety committee.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, product rejects and scrap, and repair expenses.
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
  • Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Lead ongoing efforts for process re-engineering to enhance productivity and increase efficiencies while sustaining quality, innovation and production schedules
  • Performs other duties as required.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage production supervisor(s) within the facility and is responsible for the performance management and hiring for the position(s).
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Production Supervisors
  • Provide mentoring and training for production, safety, quality, inventory control etc

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educations and/or Experience

  • BS/BA in Management or technical discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in Plant supervision/management

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of business concepts, quantitative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to use independent and realistic judgment to analyze and solve key components of job and to communicate findings and issues
  • Project management experience
  • Proven experience in mentoring and guiding others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Intermediate MS Excel (VLOOKUP function, sorting and filtering data)

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Spanish is a plus

Mathematical Skills

  • Mathematical proficiency

Other Skills

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.  
  • Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (only provide if needed)

  • Experience in metal finishing processes (polishing, electroplating, lacquer, powdercoating, PVD, etc)
  • Strong working knowledge of various quality and inspection requirements and measurement techniques for metal finishing is desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. Able to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location with some opportunity for movement. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and will be exposed to a warehouse environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
