The Plant Manager ensures that daily customer service and quality objectives are effectively fulfilled.  This position also ensures all plant operations, policies, and procedures are performed in a safe, productive and economical manner, while fostering good working relationships and building morale within the plant and the community.

Nature & Scope: 

Plant Managers have the responsibility for all aspects of the operation through effective leadership and delegation of appropriate responsibilities.  The position reports to the Director of Manufacturing at the corporate office.  Staff reporting to the Plant Manager includes Area Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Plant/Maintenance Engineer, Materials/Material Handling Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and Distribution Manager.  There is a dotted line reporting relationship for the Product Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Plant Controller and Human Resources Manager. 

This person ensures that manufacturing activities are conducted in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees and the environment.  This position is responsible for the safekeeping of all company assets located on site.  Incumbent will prepare yearly capital, labor and expense budgets and represent the organization in community groups and programs.

Faucet production includes machining of brass and stainless steel bars, brazing brass and copper components, buffing, finishing (including Plating and Coating), injection molding, assembly and distribution.  Bathing production includes extrusion of plastic resin into sheet and vacuum forming, trimming, and packing and distribution of finished bathing units.  Each plant supplies parts to the other plants on a daily basis.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintains targeted safety, quality, delivery, and cost budgets.  Responsible for creation and implementation of plans to improve upon these targeted goals
  • Preparation of plant-wide budgets with the ability to stay within budget flexed for activity
  • Maintains and promotes safety as a way of managing the plant.  Ensures that safety and health standards are met.  Assures compliance to all local, state and federal rules and regulations as they relate to labor, environment and safety
  • Provides leadership to the employees of the plant; develops personal growth throughout the organization
  • Promotes and encourages good communication with the work force, allowing for an empowered environment
  • Directly oversees and is responsible for ISO activities
  • Implements company directives, policies and procedures
  • Applies principles of the Masco Operating System (MOS) throughout the operation
  • Serves as point of contact for and represents the company in local business community
Education and Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a BS from a four-year college or university (advanced degree preferred, but not required) and a minimum 10 years of related management; or a combination of experience and education.  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization is required.  This person must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence characterized by sound judgment, high ethical standards and leadership capabilities. A background in leading and applying continuous improvement culture and principles, such as the Toyota Production System (TPS) are desired.  Learn and apply knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.  A comprehensive understanding of the plumbing industry and Delta Faucet’s methods would be beneficial.
