POSITION SUMMARY:

The PC Support Technician will report to the Corporate IS Department in Novi, MI. The Technician will provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, and also provide end user support for hardware and software.


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps to support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware/software problems pertaining to LAN
  • Provides end user support for all LAN- based applications
  • Installs and configures workstations
  • Maintains and updates computer and software documentation and manuals as required
  • Assist in creating Windows loads for all plant computers
  • Stages new incoming computers to be rolled out to user community
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all computers
  • Assists in the upkeep of documentation and planning documents
  • Performs project work as directed
  • Able to travel up to 10%+
  • Performs other related duties as needed and assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated work history of practical experience working with computer support
  • Must be physically able to move about the office building, lift, bend and stretch for installation or maintenance of computer, server and networking equipment
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office suites and basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Familiar with standard IT concepts, practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 1-3 years of IS related professional experience
  • JD Edwards experience a plus
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
