New Product Development (NPD) Project Manager

We are currently looking for self-directed project manager who will plan, organize and manage new product development projects and product- related corporate initiative from conception to launch. The NPD Project Manager is a member of the New Product Development team and reports tot eh Senior Director of New Product Development

Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:

  • Project management responsibilities include delivering all projects on time and within scope by leading and managing cross-functional teams through a phase-gated product development process. 
  • Lead project teams through the creation of the project scope and objective process, including the formulation of a clear and measurable integrated product definition. 
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans to track progress. Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Provide timely communications to management and other key members on project status.

Your Experience Includes:

  • A background in new product development is preferred.Prior experience in architectural coatings a strong plus.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.Experience in managing multiple projects is required.
  •  Experience with leading projects in a phase gated product development process.
  • Possess the ability to inspire, enable, challenge, and encourage cross-functional team members.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.Ability to create a work breakdown structure, create a detailed project plan utilizing MS Project, and understand how to identify the critical path.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills.Must be able to draft a written business plan.Great listener.Must possess strong verbal communication skills and must feel comfortable presenting to executive leadership team.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management in all phases of a project including initiating, planning, execution, controlling, and closing.
  • PDMA or PMP certification a plus.
