Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers the family leave and medical leave program, including communication with employees and managers, collection of supporting documentation and tracking of leave usage. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal laws, as well as with Company policies
  • Ensures all requests are responded to in a timely manner and that all leaves are managed in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Establishes FMLA claims; tracks and codes documentation in accordance with internal workflow processes
  • Verifies Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage and FML/LOA Eligibility.
  • Updates the case management system with call/transaction specific information and supporting documentation
  • Answers questions, provides standard policy/procedural information, and performs routine problem resolution or referral on matters pertaining LOA
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Processes employee status changes in Workday and case management systems
  • Identifies and keeps management apprised of any ongoing or outstanding leave issues that need higher level support/guidance.
  • Educates employees regarding company benefits, policies/procedures, etc.; assist with benefits administration and open enrollment
  • Provides professional, accurate and timely customer service support to both internal and external customers
  • Analyzes and develops new or modified processes to achieve efficiency and/or accuracy
  • The ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Inquires may be initiated via phone, email, chat and/or fax
  • Communicates with and educates employees and employers to set appropriate expectations both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes unique hours of a call center operation. (8:30 AM to 8:00 PM EST)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Two or more years of Human Resources experience in a benefit or leave administration capacity, demonstrating sound knowledge of leave administration policies and procedures.
  • Two (2) year of prior benefits administration/support experience required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be a quick learner with strong work ethic and ability to adapt to a fast paced environment
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting various deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Kronos, Workday, Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Spanish language a plus
  • High School Diploma required, some college courses encouraged
