Job Description

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
• Design mechanical systems, and/or specify use of existing systems, apply knowledge and
practice with engineering principles.
• Design machine parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and PDM vault.
• Prepare assembly and detailed drawings. Understands and utilizes GD&T.
• Perform analysis as necessary to validate design concepts, prepare and perform design
reviews.
• Collaborate with sourcing to work with vendors to select parts and components.
• Work to budgets and timelines relative to project tasks. Understands system cost
considerations and works to present tradeoffs and support decision-making activities.
• Work on shop floor to resolve design conflicts.

Skills, Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• 8+ years of experience.
• Experience in designing vacuum deposition or etch systems is highly desirable.
• Must have a proven record of developing designs from concept to product
commercialization
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling ability is necessary, as is the ability to
model dynamic mechanical systems.
• Experience with pneumatics, drive systems, vibration control, motion and control systems,
heat transfer, fixturing is preferred.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
