Job Profile

Material Handler Associate is responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other.  Candidate will be responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pick orders/kits, assemble as necessary, and process them by completing any required paperwork, locating items in the warehouse, moving them to the processing and shipping area.
  • Pack orders/kits and prepare them to be shipped. They must inspect the items to ensure that they’re not damaged or missing any parts, package them according to specifications and transport them carefully as needed to bring them to shipping facilities.
  • The Material Handler maintains warehouse inventory by arranging boxes and making sure they’re stored in a way that they won’t be damaged. They also make sure to track all orders, packaging, and shipping to ensure inventory is accurately recorded.  Finally, they’re responsible for maintaining general cleanliness in the warehouse.
  • Prepare sales orders for shipment to maintain on-time deliveries
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing requisitions for repair and/or replacement
  • Operate adequate merchandise management tools (for example, forklift)
  • Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs (M2M)
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

Material Handlers are detail-oriented problem solvers who can think quantitatively and notice defects and errors quickly. When problems arise, they must be able to act quickly and decisively. To be successful, the Material Handler also has great communication skills and can work as a team member with a wide variety of people in the supply chain.

  • Having basic mathematical abilities
  • Demonstrating verbal and written communication skills
  • Being proficient in basic computer applications
  • Being able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
  • Forklift Operation Certification will be considered an advantage
  • Previous working experience as a Warehouse Worker for 2 years
  • Hands on experience with inventory and logistics software programs
  • Great physical stamina and manual dexterity
  • Team player
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem solver
