Job Description


Material handlers work independently within a high performance system. They are required to provide necessary parts or materials to production areas, place received items in correct location, rearrange inventories as necessary, and a variety of other applications. Material handlers may be required to switch daily responsibilities frequently based on staffing and demand of daily schedule. They are required to provide coverage when necessary, discuss staffing concerns and collaborate on trouble shooting process. A material handler is required to be certified to operate a forklift. They are also required to complete inventory system training. Material handler is responsible for supporting the company’s mission statement and the overall business objective.

Nature & Scope:

Material handlers are required to be detail oriented. They may work with others or independently. Material handlers must have good math and organization skills. They also must display good communication skills. Material handlers should build effective internal relationships. This position reports to Team Leader.


• Move raw material or finish goods

• Assist in maintaining constant production cycle

• Encourage other to reach production goal

• Maintain inventory accuracy

Principal Accountabilities:

• Inspect equipment and material

• Handle moving objectives

• Make decisions and solve problems

• Train and teach other employees

• Monitor process, materials, and surrounding

• Other duties as required

Education and Experience/Skills

High School graduate or GED

Fast-paced team environment experience is preferred

Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required

Ability to interpret

Computer skills
