We are hiring two Maintenance Mechanics to join our Maintenance team!


Are you well-versed in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting?  Under general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic duties include maintaining production equipment and building systems operation as needed through scheduled and unscheduled servicing of the equipment.  Other daily duties include troubleshooting for root cause, repairing equipment to the highest quality standard, and proactively completing preventative maintenance and improvements to all production and building equipment such as mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, basic electrical systems, motors and motor controls, and CNC/PLC control systems. 


  • Do you proactively check equipment?  You will schedule and perform annual, monthly, and weekly inspections in addition to conducting preventative maintenance on heavy duty production equipment and building systems.  You will also receive requests to address urgent unscheduled servicing and repairs.  
  • Can you demonstrate your electrical and mechanical knowledge?  You will test motors and motor controls, AC and DC circuits up to 480 volts, and will at times apply flow and pressure concepts as it pertains to hydraulics and pneumatics.  Mechanically speaking, you will need to determine the amount of force necessary to move an object and adjust the speed of a rotating assembly.             
  • Is safety your top priority?  It is important and a requirement to complete all work within compliance of Watkins safety and maintenance programs including but not limited to: Lockout, Tagout (LOTO,) Arc Flash prevention, Fall prevention, and Total Productive Maintenance guidelines.
  • Do you look for continuous improvement opportunities?  We are looking for Maintenance Mechanics who can plan and coordinate improvements to equipment as needed to improve safety, quality, productivity and reduce operating costs.
  • Do you have computer skills?  You will be assigned work orders through our maintenance management system regarding equipment failures and when finished will need to input necessary data in compliance with Watkins safety and maintenance programs.  You may also be asked to track and upload information related to machine uptime/downtime and on occasion will need to fill-out purchase orders.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least 3 years maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment; the equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Must understand and be able to explain basic electrical theory, basic fluid power principals (hydraulics and pneumatics,) and be able to explain basic mechanical principles. 
  • Must have basic fabrication skills including the ability to perform repair welding, and basic drilling, bolting and torqueing for various fasteners.
  • The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Must be able to enter data, prepare reports, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary.  Experience with a computerized maintenance management system is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization as well as strong ability to work in a team environment, are required to be successful in this position.
