Position Summary:  Behr Paint Company has an exciting opportunity for a strategic talent acquisition professional to join our People Services (Human Resources) department. The Manager, Talent Acquisition is a key member of the Talent and Organizational Development group and will be a key contributor to, and driver of, the talent strategy. This is a high-impact role that is responsible for

  • developing and executing on the overall talent acquisition and hiring strategy for Behr
  • serving as a change agent in improving and evolving the lifecycle recruitment process (candidate sourcing, assessments, interviewing, hiring practices, employer branding and outreach) to support Behr’s strategies, initiatives, and growth
  • leading a team of recruiters and coordinators to create outstanding, inclusive experiences for candidates and new hires as well as build a strong, diverse talent pipeline

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with business leaders to understand future talent needs of the organization.
  • Develop talent acquisition strategy, practices, processes, and messaging that support Behr’s overall mission and strategy.
  • Collaborate with Brands & Campaigns and the OD team to ensure all talent messaging accurately and consistently portrays Behr’s mission, vision, values, and culture.
  • Network and develop relationships with candidates and organizations (e.g., via universities/campus clubs, other community partners, and job fairs) to access a pool of diverse, future talent to meet organizational needs.
  • Seek out new, value-added opportunities to source candidates (e.g., via social recruitment or new tools).
  • Lead the recruitment and selection of high caliber, diverse candidates, while emphasizing outstanding candidate and new hire experiences.
  • Consult with HR colleagues and business partners to analyze recruitment needs and ensure that hiring salaries are competitive to the external market.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at Masco—Behr’s parent company—on the implementation of enterprise-wide (cross-Masco) talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Lead a team of recruiters and coordinators by setting goals and expectations as well as providing feedback, coaching, and training in order to drive high service and performance levels.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities for the recruiting/coordinator team, including prioritizing work assignments and serving as an escalation point for critical issues, contacts, and requests.
  • Manage talent acquisition metrics and ensure compliance with established processes.
  • Own relationship with contingent labor recruiting agencies.
  • Support Talent Management and Organizational Development initiatives, as needed.

Education and Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and five or more years of related talent acquisition experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory environment as it relates to sourcing, selection, and hiring; including EEO, OFCCP, and Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures
  • Strong people management skills, ideally with two or more years of experience managing direct reports
  • Two or more years of experience sourcing passive candidates
  • Experience with social recruiting tools would be beneficial
  • Applicant Tracking System experience required
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including the ability to influence and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and appropriately balance strategic thinking with action
  • Superior interpersonal abilities, including the ability to get along with diverse personalities, while being tactful, mature and flexible 
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with a broad business perspective
  • Ability to manage metrics and make process improvements based upon those metrics
  • Continuous improvement mindset
