Plant 2 - Weekend Crew - 1st Shift

With limited supervision, the Maintenance Technician performs intermediate scheduled, unscheduled and emergency tasks on all electromechanical equipment in designated areas in order to minimize down time and to meet all quality and productivity standards. The Tech also completes tasks in a timely fashion in accordance with published schedules. Primary functions focus on maintenance of production equipment and/or facilities and support.

Duties:

  • Demonstrates the proper operation of all designated equipment;
  • Prepares for use, performs operational checks, inspects and completes routine repairs and major overhauls with little or no immediate supervision
  • Requests, withdraws from inventory, and replaces defective or worn parts and makes all necessary adjustments for the proper operation of the equipment
  • Demonstrates the ability to prevent equipment down time through observation, communications with production staff and proactive problem solving
  • Assists with some on-the-job training on designated equipment, and explains how a task is performed or accomplished
  • Properly communicates and documents all work performed in 7I, in compliance with work order process guidelines
  • Complies with all applicable Best Practices, Maintenance and Safety Policies, and building codes
  • Expends the majority of effort and time on the designated equipment, but completes other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • 3 Years’ experience in a heavy mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Background in electro-mechanical process
  • Must be resourceful and apply critical thinking skills in problem solving
  • Knowledge of TPM or other continuous improvement processes
  • Knowledge of automated processing systems
  • Principles of mechanics (coupling, shaft alignment, bearings, gears & lubrication
  • Technical documents, drawings, and schematics
  • Fundamental electronics and basic digital electronics
  • AC/DC and servo motors and drives
  • Strong computer skills
Physical Requirements
•Requires lifting, carrying, and pushing, pulling weight up to 75 lbs. occasionally, average weight is 1 lb. – 50 lbs. frequently.
•Work at a swift and steady pace. Critical and physical demands are reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, trunk turning and twisting.
•Must be capable of working outside in all weather conditions.
•Must have sufficient hand eye coordination to handle precise movements.
•

  • Alertness is necessary during all aspects of job duties.
  • Effective basic written and verbal communication skills are needed.
  • Long and short-term memory is needed for procedures and work processes.
  • Individuals need to be able to work as a team player and must be able to interact with other co-workers.
  • Must have the ability to learn and comprehend detailed instructions.


Visual and Hearing Demands
  • Near, far and peripheral vision is necessary in all aspects of job duties.
  • Hearing is necessary to interact with other co-workers. Depth perception is necessary to see all working parts and processes and applications.
Level of Proficiency
  • A working knowledge of department safety, quality and operational procedures, training manuals and company policies and procedures is required.
  • Employees must have an understanding of various types of environmental and machining processes, which might result in non-conformance to company or OSHA compliance.
Attendance and Work Schedule

Daily attendance and punctuality must be maintained. A typical work schedule is 10 hours per day, 4 days per week with overtime being determined on a daily basis according to production schedules. Overtime is posted as needed. There are 2 shifts and a weekend PM shift. Workload is per production schedule with department’s specific standards. Absenteeism will cause hardship to other team members. There is one – fifteen minute break, a 30-minute lunch and one additional ten minute break.
