Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for directing and coordinating the Logistics functions at the plant. Responsible for managing the scheduling processes for the daily production of cabinets and the outbound delivery of those cabinets. Assure the network delivery providers are meeting plan and making continuous improvement. Work with the customer care department and sales representatives to assure the expectation of delivery service to our customers are being met.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Manage the efficient workflow of warehouse and associated receipt and delivery of cabinets for all customers.
• Insure scanning and inventory processes associated with shipping are followed and robust.
• Work with Corporate to insure we have a sufficient carrier base to meet metrics to include sourcing alternate carriers, evaluating routings, etc.
• Oversee daily transportation of all modes inbound and outbound are executed timely and effectively.
• Manage the claims process and monthly chargeback dollars received from our delivery providers for loss and damage.
• Track key performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in key metrics (safety, quality, cost, customer service, productivity, etc)
• Drive substantial improvement in OTIF (on time in full) utilizing Continuous improvement tools to meet company goals and objectives.
• Drive cost per cabinet down in all logistics areas to meet company goals and objectives.
• Insure cabinet line scheduling is done to minimize downtime and sequencing issues.
• Liaise with business development, field support and customer service to resolve issues and ensure support plans are in place to maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Support logistic system enhancements by soliciting user feedback, providing technical requirements and testing modifications.
• Oversee the Systems group and insure tasks are completed timely and correctly.
• Calls held daily with Masco Cabinetry corporate to review the performance of on time delivery, loss and damage.
• Drive continuous improvement through the use of continuous improvement tools (Kaizens, PDCs, Charts, VSMs, 5Ys, fishbones, etc)
• Work with the shipping group to enhance shipping processes (drop lot management, loading techniques, etc)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• High School diploma or GED.
• 4 years warehouse/shipping experience with a background in traffic functions.
• Demonstrated successful ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated successful ability to prioritize
• and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with external customers.
• Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business or related field.
• Prior ERP experience (Oracle).
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts.
• Familiarity with the cabinet industry and product.
• Experience in the building industry.
