We are seeking a Logistics Clerk to join our Shipping team!


IN A NUTSHELL
Are you an organized, detail oriented, customer focused individual? As the Logistics Clerk you are the final touch point prior to dispatching orders to our dealers and customers.  This position is responsible for verifying the accuracy of shipping documentation, generating documents and providing shipping forms to each carrier destined for domestic and international areas.  The Logistics Clerk will also research inventory and back orders while making sure to communicate shortages to internal departments.

IS THIS YOU?

  • Are you organized and detail oriented?  You will coordinate the movement of carriers to dock doors, confirm appointment times using the truck schedule and Appointment Plus system and communicate closely with security to coordinate the movement of carriers to dock doors, based on appointment time and priority.
  • Are you well versed in reporting?  You’ll be responsible for maintaining a record of load numbers, based on dock door location, in addition to logging the names of loaders and length of time spent preparing and packing containers.
  • Are you quality minded?  You will be responsible for verifying order details and preparing orders for shipment while following all established standards and procedures. You’ll also enter and post freight charges for sales orders and validate cash on delivery (COD) shipments are correctly calculated.
  • Can you schedule efficiently?  In this role, you’ll assign a container and a dock door to loaders that allows for the most optimal use of available resources as well as provide load sheets to the carrier. 
  • Are you a strong communicator? This position will involve cross departmental communication with Dealer Support and Finished Goods departments to detect and resolve sales order issues for ocean, truckload (TL) and less than truckloads (LTL) shipments.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in each of the following areas: truckloads (TL), full container loads (FCL) and less than truckloads (LTL) shipping, Hazardous Materials, Dangerous Goods, dispatching Shippers Letter of Instruction (SLI), Commercial Invoices for international shipments.
  • The individual must be able to interface with co-workers, internal departments, service providers, and customers in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Computer literacy with accurate data entry skills; enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and transportation management system (TMS) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, owner’s operating manual and service procedure manuals in English.  Ability to speak in Spanish is a plus.
  • Forklift Certification preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
