Are you a strategic audit leader ready to take on a new challenge in your career? As the Internal Controls Manager, you will promote, maintain and enhance a culture of effective and efficient financial internal control throughout Watkins Wellness, globally. While reporting to and working closely with the Vice President of Finance, you will develop and implement policies and procedures, monitor compliance throughout the organization, and conduct internal audits.


  • Do you enjoy motivating others? Apart from daily management of the audit schedule and internal control procedures, you’ll be responsible for the management and career development of internal audit staff. This will include coaching and assigning challenging work assignments.
  • Can you build effective relationships? You will frequently collaborate with MIAD, the Internal Audit department through our parent company, Masco, a Fortune 500 company, and coordinate with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) audit teams regarding compliance and external audits.
  • Can you assess risk? You’ll direct the annual Risk Assessment Review (RAR) of key internal control processes. You will also support RAR functional teams and internal audit staff in review of Risk and Control Matrices (RCM) for Watkins Wellness, globally.
  • Are you skilled at program management? The Internal Controls Manager will continuously manage the annual ICAP (Internal Controls Assessment Program) in which you will proactively seek out opportunities for implementing controls where deemed an increased area for risk.
  • Are you a strong communicator? As the department manager, cross functional leaders and teams will look to you for guidance in compliance matters. You will act as the primary point of contact for all internal controls related questions arising from Masco and other external audit teams. You’ll be looked upon to also provide your recommendations and advocate for the right level of necessary control deployment as it pertains to new risk discoveries.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
  • 5 years minimum internal controls knowledge, either through previous Sarbanes-Oxley work or internal/external audit experience.
  • Solid understanding of SOX section 404 requirements, including hands-on compliance experience.
  • Experience in performing audits of internal controls within public companies; experience working in a manufacturing environment is also preferred.
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to prepare reports, performance reviews, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly as it relates to process flow is helpful.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization as well as strong ability to work in a team environment, are required to be successful in this position.
