Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supervises all activities related to Liberty’s IT infrastructure. The includes the management and oversight of the infrastructure team as well as the scope of work assigned to this team. This includes installing, maintaining and troubleshooting server hardware and software, routers, switches and firewalls, data center, security systems, network security, conference rooms and all other electronic infrastructure related equipment.
  • Serve as the key business partner working directly with internal stakeholders delivering quality solutions by leveraging knowledge of their functional needs to identify new opportunities and process improvements, and builds out comprehensive business requirements.
  • Actively participates as a part of the department leadership team to develop long and short-term strategies, set and achieve measurable goals and objectives, and develop action plans with challenging but realistic deadlines.
  • Works closely with team members to proactively develop and retain their individual training. plans, personal development opportunities and long-range career goals.
  • Ensures team-wide compliance to internal processes, methodologies and audit requirements.
  • Manages and motivates internal team of system, network and security administrators and engineers and support personnel, as well as external consultants.
  • Assesses and recommends all infrastructure equipment purchases or lease proposals, as well as upgrades to or replacements of existing equipment.
  • Oversees the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Ensures the stability and availability of all production systems and communications, including maintaining maximum up time by incorporating failover systems and/or backups.
  • Responsible for maintaining all disaster recovery aspects, executes annual testing, and recommendation improvements when needed.
  • Develops a collaborative environment with all infrastructure team members as well as across the greater IT organization.
  • Manages the intake of requests, oversees initial triage to segregate immediate need from discretionary, and coordinates prioritization of work with the IT Steering Committee.
  • Effectively balances workload across resources, including assuming responsibility for executing tasks, and ensures that all support requests are assigned and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Consistently develops and executes to project plans that are comprehensive and cross-functional, resulting in an ever-increasing high level of on-time delivery.
  • Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and proactively looks for opportunities to increase efficiencies, refine processes and cut costs with internal IT processes as well as throughout the business.
  • Possesses solid written and oral communication skills enabling effective and positive sharing of ideas, needs.
  • Demonstrates solid trouble shooting and problem-solving skills, and an ability to perform root cause analysis and determine long term resolution.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with ease, and able to maintain a level demeanor when working under pressure.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and identifies opportunities to evaluate new concepts and technologies that align with our business needs and directions.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred. Three to Seven years of relevant work experience in Information Technology Infrastructure, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience leading a team of people.
  • Working technical knowledge of Cisco routing, switching, Palo Alto Firewalls; Microsoft Windows Servers; SAN and virtualization technologies.
