Human Resources Internship

Job Summary:

Exciting Human Resources summer internship, working with a top consumer goods company in the kitchen and bath segment. The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful, professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. This internship offers the opportunity for meaningful contribution to the HR department’s business objectives while experiencing personal professional development.

The HR internship will be based in Ann Arbor, MI at Masco Cabinetry’s Headquarters. The HR Intern will provide quality HR compliance and administrative support the HR team. This support is based out of Ann Arbor, MI at the corporate office. Interns are responsible for maintaining satisfied clients by delivering assistance and administrative support to the HR team.

Principal Functional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with administering and writing HR policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing and updating the job descriptions
  • Preparing HR reports and analysis.
  • Assist in the recruiting process (candidate sourcing, conducting phone interviews, coordinating on-site interviews).
  • Work with the Health and Safety Manager to learn about different aspects of safety.
  • Work on the onboarding/off boarding process
  • Assist with Talent Development

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field
  • Minimum two years of college completed
  • Major GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively express thoughts/ideas through written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Leadership experience
  • Member of school or national HR organizations
  • Previous related work experience
