  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and selection for all Operations employees as well as assisting with exempt staffing and intern recruitment; on-boarding and retention. Leads job fairs as needed.
  • Leads or assists with employee recognition and employee communications. Is primary point of contact for hourly employees related to attendance, daily questions, policies, etc.
  • Provides consultation and guidance on counseling sessions and disciplinary actions for hourly employees under the direction of the HR Manager or Director.
  • Assists with training to support management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review and other HR related business topics.
  • Responds to daily questions and inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Works with temporary or contract employment agencies when short term staffing needs arise.
  • Functions as a lead, or assists in executing on HR projects and strategic plans as appropriate.
  • Functions as an effective back-up to the Safety Specialist, Benefit Specialist and HR Administrator.
  • Partners with Operations leadership team members to engage Operations staff and ensure positive employee relations.
  • Provides timely service to internal and external customers professionally and with required discretion.
  • Respects co-workers and fosters atmosphere of teamwork. Serves as role model for HR associates and among peers.
  • Creatively considers ways to increase efficiency, contain cost, and make improvements on a continual basis.
  • Develops and maintains positive employee relations and promotes company values.
  • Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset – through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the business.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Four years of related HR experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification (or similar) preferred.
