Job Description

The human resource supervisor ensures that human resource programs support the long-term goals of the company. This position performs professional work of considerable difficulty overseeing a range of administrative functions related to human resource management, employee development and customer service. This position also conducts regular HR training for employees and supervisors.

 I.      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Assists the Director of HR in supporting corporate wide Human Resources objectives and initiatives
  • Plans, directs and administers various human resource programs.
  • Writes and revises job classification specifications.
  • Develops HR training programs and teaches courses.
  • Researches, analyzes data and prepares quarterly reports on HR trends, new HR project suggestions and current program goals and progress.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises program policies and procedures.
  • Provides advice and counsel to department heads, managers and staff on updating and interpreting programs.
  • Serves as an acting HR director in that person's absence.
  • Works in collaboration HR team to ensure deployment, consistency and administration of Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Supervises the HR team in the daily administration of departmental requirements.
  • Ensures the completion of new hire orientation delivery and process improvement
  • Manages all aspects of relations with temporary agencies
  • Ensure resolution of employee issues and concerns
  • Ensures all required monthly reports are accurate and delivered on time.

II.      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises HR nonexempt positions

III.      KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree or active PHR Certification, in addition to 5 years experience in Human Resources
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills
  • Understanding of HRIS systems.
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have professional demeanor, strong work ethic and be a self-starter

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, dynamics of employee development and professional growth, and training program design and presentation.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws, regulations, and report preparation.
  • Ability to plan, organize and present training activities to diverse employee groups, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

IV.      PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  
  • Use of Electronic Mail, telephone, and face-to-face discussions to communicate
  • Able to work extended hours when required
  • Able to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location with some opportunity to move about

V.      WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Working in an office environment, cubicle or enclosed office space.
  • Minimum work in warehouse environment
  • Primarily in-office support of employees, with some travel as needed

VI.      REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel to other business facilities
