The HR Manager will assist and support the daily Human Resource operations within the company. Specifically, this position will provide HR leadership across the administration and supervision human resource management, employee development, and customer service. The Manager will be a champion for continuous improvement within the department, and drive Brasstech’s ethical and Behavior Based culture.


  • Direct and administer the successful completion of department programs, processes, and/or projects.
  • Responsible for the coordination of daily operations within the HR department.
  • Oversee employee payroll accounting, transactions and reporting activities; and addresses escalated payroll related queries and requests.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment law.
  • Manage the maintenance of employee records and data integrity and compiles reports for Management as requested.
  • Operate as a Business Partner to managers and supervisors on HR requirements, initiatives, programs and policies. 
  • Provide coaching on HR best practices to HR team, company supervisors and managers.
  • Facilitate communication among employees and management; guiding management and employee base on problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.
  • Performs other duties as required.


  • Contributes to developing departmental goals, objectives and systems within the department.
  • This position manages nonexempt employees of the department and is responsible for their performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.


Educations and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination related work experience and higher education required
  • 5 years of HR industry experience required
  • 2-3 years of experience in Supervisory position

Certificates, License, Registrations or Professional Designations

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred


  • Knowledge of principles and best practices of human resource management
  • Working knowledge of CA state and federal labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees, supervisory and management team
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional and departmental teams
  • Ability to develop working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Comfortable with presentation and public speaking skills
  • Organization, time management and customer service skills
  • Strong work ethic and be a self-starter

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Intermediate MS Excel (VLOOKUP function, sorting and filtering data)

Language Skills

  • English and Spanish (reading, writing, verbal) required

Mathematical Skills

  • Proficiency with mathematical equations

Other Skills

  • Travel is required between business facilities
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours
  • Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status


While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. Able to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location with some opportunity for movement. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and can be exposed to a warehouse environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
