The Aviation Intern will report to the Director of Aviation, and will work within Masco to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.  This position is located near the Metro-Detroit Airport in Romulus, MI. The intern will be responsible for various tasks and projects during his/her 8-10 weeks with the Company, and may rotate through the three flight department functional areas (flight, maintenance, and administration).  This structure allows for the intern to gain first-hand knowledge of business aircraft operations through hands-on experiences.

Below are examples of tasks/projects that may be assigned:

  • Assist Safety Officer with various tasks including SMS
  • Collect, review, and input trip log details into record-keeping software
  • Analyze trip patterns using various programs
  • Assist with flight record data entry process improvements
  • Complete T:/ drive and DM file structure reorganization
  • Responsible for aircraft and hangar commissary oversight
  • Assist in talent and D & I outreach event planning
  • Assist department personnel in daily tasks
  • Assist in the dispatch and recovery of aircraft
  • All other tasks/duties assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Junior or Senior status enrolled in Aviation Flight Science/Technology or Aviation Management


  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong interest in business aviation
