JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and equipment. Supervises the maintenance team in a way that allows the plant to achieve KPI targets, including but not limited to safety, costs, performance and delivery.


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs maintenance staff in a manner that ensures facility and equipment reliability, stability, and availability; impels a sense of urgency when dealing with down equipment or emergency situations
  • Able to identify, justify and effectively implement plant and equipment improvement projects; manages the facility capital budget and associated capital projects
  • Support plant continuous improvement initiatives; looks for ways to improve the design and function of plant equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Serves as the point of contact for contractors and makes certain they follow all applicable company rules and regulations; inspects contractor work for completeness and quality
  • Achieve positive budget results in support of plant operations
  • Provides performance feedback and training to maintenance personnel to ensure department effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BS in engineering or related field
  • 5 years manufacturing operations experience
  • 2 years’ supervision experience in either maintenance or manufacturing engineering
  • Able to program PLC’s
  • Demonstrated successful leadership, including personnel and organization development
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in leading Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities and Six Sigma processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with the cabinet industry and product
  • Six Sigma certification or comparable problem solving certification
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental management system elements
  • Excellent project management and budgeting skills with a deadline orientation and focus
