Job Description

The Fabrication Inspector is responsible for following the training parameters to become competent in the area of fabricating and assembling parts from extruded product to the customer’s specifications using fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.

The Fabrication Inspector responsibilities include, but are not limited to, learning the process to:
  • Operate various heating, forming, splicing and punching machines
  • Make limited adjustments to equipment, as authorized
  • Bend plastic tubing using cores and heat medium (ovens, heat panels, etc.)
  • Cut plastic stock to size using automated cutters, and form specified product following detail sheets
  • Inspect product and completed items for quality and conformance to specifications according to detail sheet
  • Prepare product for shipping, including assembling boxes, packing, and labeling product
  • Prepare workstation for oncoming shift and complete log sheets
  • Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures
  • Keep equipment and work area clean
  • Follow all ISO procedures

To qualify for the Fabrication Inspector position, the candidate is required to have:
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the position
  • Demonstrated hand-eye coordination
  • Demonstrated basic math skills
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
The Fabrication Inspector is required to complete training exercises in, or demonstrate a working knowledge of:
  • On-the-job training in the Fabrication Department.
  • Understanding of the Incentive system
  • Must maintain fully satisfactory production performance levels
  • ISO procedures, Work Instructions and Quality Policy
