POSITION SUMMARY:

The company is seeking a Co-Op engineer who will be responsible for customer-focused product solutions for rough plumbing applications with an emphasis on quality and on time delivery.  The candidate must have the capacity to work closely with engineering, product management, sales, quality, marketing & manufacturing to analyze and design products that will meet or exceed customer expectations. The position will require application of engineering fundamentals to innovate, design, and develop customized, customer-centric product solutions. The position will also require supporting efforts to reduce product cost through new design simplification and existing product redesign. The position will interface with multiple functions across the organization in execution of various project initiatives.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The person will perform and not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists the Engineering Manager with research, development, testing and design maintenance of all BrassCraft products
  • Assist in new product development initiatives that include design concept, CAD drawings, and participation in DFMEA, prototyping, testing and design freeze.
  • Assist with collateral development that includes installation instruction manuals, submittal sheets and catalog development
  • Participate in innovation activities that include brainstorming sessions, researching latest technologies, evaluating ideas fit for the business and customer/competitive research
  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of product quality issues
  • Maintains high standard professionalism in attitudes and communication with fellow employees and customers
  • Perform other related duties as needed and assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering – will consider Material Science
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 (cumulative)
  • Minimum of 1+ years of undergraduate studies in an engineering program
  • Class Standing:  Sophomore, Junior and Senior
  • This job requires someone with a technical background and a high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and other common PC applications
  • Able to read product drawings
  • Good technical communication
  • Understands the scientific method
