Director, Sales Operations

Role Summary:

As the Director of Sales Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the business processes and Sales Operations structure for the Kichler Lighting organization.

The Director, Sales Operations will act as an internal advisor and business partner on a wide variety of business processes and sales operation opportunities for the Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with key leaders across the organization, to ensure that resources are aligned to drive business success including but not limited to Sales, Operations and Marketing.  By developing key performance metrics to measure the activities that have the most significant impact on sales productivity, pull the necessary reports to track those KPIs over time, and compile dashboards that Sales Leaders can use to keep tabs on their team the successful candidate will be able to advise the Sales Team in the decision-making process to solve complicated issues.

In this role, the Director of Sales Operations will proactively identify bottlenecks in the Sales process and find ways to reduce them.  Ultimately, the successful candidate will be responsible for increasing Sales productivity by simplifying processes. 

The Director of Sales Operations will manage our Builder Administration Team, the Sales Quotes Team, the Sales Coordinators, and Inside Sales.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the success of Kichler Lighting’s Quotations Department, which includes Builder Quotations in additional to P&L responsibilities for National Builders
  • Develop key performance metrics and dashboards that help the Sales Organization focus on performance drivers
  • Act as a Sales advocate by balancing Sales needs while managing reasonable expectations from an operations perspective
  • Communicate regularly with the Sales Team to convey information useful in achieving objectives
  • Manage the Sales Incentive Program to ensure sales achievements are recognized
  • Provide the Sales Team with tools, scripts, and other relevant content to help guide their interaction with prospective Customers
  • Ability to manage a large dynamic team with a wide range of responsibility to service the Sales organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant business experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of Managerial experience
  • Strong analytical abilities, with outstanding Excel skills
  • Proven track record of being process driven with the ability to document and streamline processes while always having a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to partner with Leadership and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to develop and strengthen a Team
  • Strategic thinker with ability to think beyond the short-term and see the impact to the long-term

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college of university
  • 5-years of Managerial experience
  • 10-years of Business and / or Sales experience
