We are Milgard Windows, the leading manufacturer of windows and doors in the Western United States with operations in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, and Texas. Our Corporate Headquarters in Tacoma, Washington has an immediate opening Director of Supply Chain, in this role you will create a competitive advantage for Milgard by providing supply-chain solutions that positively impact the quality, delivery, value, and cost of our products. Responsible for maximizing the service levels of Milgard’s supply-chain and minimizing the inventory required.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the tactical purchasing functions provided by the Milgard Corporate team.
  • Ensure that processes and tools are in place to extract the greatest value from our supply-chain.
  • Routinely market test Milgard’s spend to ensure suppliers are providing the lowest total cost of ownership including; price, terms, inventory, quality, and value-add.
  • Lead key supplier negotiation activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and mentor a team of high performing Supply-Chain professionals. Ensure that each member of the team is empowered and grows professionally. Use MPS to establish alignment across the organization.
  • Ensure that there is an effective communication channel established with our suppliers, that all interactions with suppliers are ethical, and that suppliers benefit from their partnership with Milgard.
  • Monitor commodity markets and provide visibility to potential implications.
  • Maintain a set of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) that monitor the health of Milgard’s supply-chain and direct actions where exceptions and/or trends indicate deficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain the processes and relationships necessary to ensure supply-chain strategies are well integrated into product development and engineering efforts.
  • Work across a matrix organization, sharing and learning best practices, and balancing corporate and local requirements.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with Masco and other Business Units which generates opportunities for Milgard to leverage, and for Masco to benefit. Represent Milgard’s interest through active participation on the Masco Supply-Chain Council.
  • Pursue relationships with external organizations that allow Milgard to leverage technology and supply-chain competencies.
  • Supervision for Corporate Supply-Chain team (Procurement, Supply-Chain, and Logistics)
  • In-Direct responsibility for Material Managers distributed throughout operations

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience providing leadership to a Supply-Chain team supporting a manufacturing environment. Previous hands-on procurement experience necessary. A BS/BA degree in Business or related Field. APICS Certification required. Experience with Lean and/or Six-Sigma preferred.
