JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:

Manages site improvement activities working closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Plant Managers and cross functional support teams. Identifies and delivers best practice programs to ensure the short and long-term success of manufacturing. Work directly with Leaders in Business Unit (BU) to instill a LEAN and Continuous Improvement culture supported by Masco Operating Systems (MOS) tools and training. Collaborate, recognize and prioritize highest impact opportunities within Business Unit. Help drive best Masco “best practices” across the BU.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Through MOS frameworks lead process improvement, capability building, and growth activities across the BU.
  • Teach and assist others in the use of Lean tools such as Kaizen, BPI (Business Process Improvement), VSM (Value Stream Maps), PSP (Problem Solving Process), and RCCM (Root Cause Counter Measure).
  • Assist Enterprise Leadership in the development and execution of Kaizen Leadership Process utilizing a Kaizen Pipeline.
  • Evaluate and determine staff training and develop needs. Train, develop and certify Lean practitioners in the MOS toolset.
  • Drive results in sales growth (YOY) and total cost productivity (TCP) savings _________
  • Coordinate development and execution of Kaizen Pipeline within each Business Function within the Business Unit. Directly support Leadership at BU’s to achieve strategic objectives through the use of developed MOS tools, conducting workshops including PSP RCCM and Kaizen events.
  • Works closely with Production Managers and Engineering Manager to ensure continuous improvement is a focus in all Safety related goals and initiatives
  • Balances safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Establish both short term and long-term strategies, lead development of the action plans, and establish a method to communicate progress toward operational goals.
  • Work across multiple sites and all shifts as need to ensure consistent results throughout the shop floor.
  • Evaluates the operational performance and staff allocation to determine the best use of resources coupled with meeting operational goals

STATUS: Exempt

Education:  

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • College Degree Major Desired: BS Engineering or Technology (Industrial, Mechanical or related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA or MS degree is preferred. 
  • Six Sigma Certified. Black Belt preferred.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of robust experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and driving improvement activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and track record of delivering results in a high performance, continuous improvement environment through process optimization and facilitation.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of continuous improvement tools and training curriculum preferred. 
  •  Must be functionally organized with the ability to motivate and inspire employees for improved operations performance.
  • Experience working in Extruded Plastics and/or Injection Molding highly preferred.
